Here's where I tell you what this album is and isn't. If you listen to it, it's easy to tell what it isn't. It is very far from polished. It's not finished either. I've been tinkering with the mixes here and doing what I can to doctor old iPod and iPhone recordings. Every listen brings a new idea to cut something or boost something or fade something. I need to stop and get it out before it drives me insane.

If you can't already tell, this album is very personal to me. It's a window into our practices, four friends hanging out once or twice a week to make loud and fun music. It's songs left on the table, nearly finished and nearly perfect in their own way, maybe better for never having been finished. We were always a better live band than a studio band and a better actual garage band than a live band.

I've been sitting on these recordings for over a decade now. I've moved them from various laptops and hard drives. Before this year, I didn't think I'd do anything with them but occasionally listen on my own. Who in their right mind would want to put out a bunch of Voice Memo recordings? Me, apparently.

Second Helping is our best album and likely will always be since we're not in the practice of being active anymore. But this weird little collection of covers, almost finished ideas, and obscurities might be my favorite Oh No album. I hope you like it as much as I do. And maybe, just maybe, one day we'll get around to finishing this.
